Homeopathy is now used worldwide, the second most popular healthcare system after Traditional Chinese Medicine, with a 200 year history of clinical experience. It is recognised by the World Health Organisation as a valid form of healthcare. Homeopathy has legal recognition as an individual system of medicine in 42 countries and is recognized as a part of complementary and alternative medicine in 28 others.
Homeopathy is suitable for any age group and may be used in the management of a variety of illnesses and conditions and minor injuries requiring first aid. It is a traditional therapy and may be used alongside conventional treatments and medications where applicable or required.
It is a 'big picture' modality, thus a visit to a homeopath will encompass in-depth exploration of the physical, mental and emotional states each person may experience with their condition.
A natural solution for family healthcare
"Homeopathy...cures a larger percentage of cases than any other method of treatment and is beyond doubt safer and more economical and most complete medical science." Mahatma Gandhi
Homeopathy is a holistic system of medicine developed by German physician Dr Samuel Hahnemann, based on the principle of "like curing like". This is not a new principle but is founded on a long held belief by healers such as Hippocrates and Paracelsus, that substances that produce symptoms in a healthy individual can be used to treat similar symptoms in a sick person. Thus homeopathic treatment is believed to stimulate the body's ability to fight infection and susceptibility to disease.
An example of this principle is coffee. Some people may experience overly heightened alertness, becoming unusually reactive to normal stimuli. When a person presents at a homeopathic clinic with symptoms of insomnia, headache, irritability and an over stimulated nervous system, Coffea cruda may alleviate these symptoms, prepared according to special homeopathic principles.
